We won’t sugar-coat it - we operate in the more challenging end of the logistics sector. Our bread and butter is the delivery of multi-component goods, requiring a two-person lift. All our deliveries are time-sensitive and we operate from four logistics hubs across Scotland servicing the mainland and islands for a selection of blue-chip customers. We are a seven-day operation with over 20 years’ experience in our field, with a focus on environmental, social and economic sustainability, in particular supply chain ethics.

To enhance the team and foster further employee engagement, in addition to keeping a close eye on absenteeism and performance management, we are looking for a talented and enthusiastic HR Officer. Someone who can really add value and grow our team in terms of recruitment and development, whilst adhering to best practice in the sector.

**Based**: Deans Industrial Estate, Livingston.

**Part-time **Flexible working hours. 20 hours per week. Days can be discussed at interview.

**Reporting to**: Chris Bett, HR Manager and Director - Sam Taggart.

**Responsibilities**:

- Point of contact for Line Managers and Directors with regards the end-to-end employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations (disciplinaries and grievances), absences (sickness and holidays), rewards, development, recognition and exits.
- Liaison with Payroll provider.
- Point of contact for employees on HR matters. A solid knowledge of Microsoft packages and comfortable working across a selection of digital platforms.
- General HR admin tasks, as requested.
- Ensuring managers and supervisors are adhering to people-related policy and procedures
- Keeping the company abreast of changes and updates to current HR legislation and best practice.
- Experience of TUPE a distinct advantage.
- Focus on absence monitoring and staff on-role engagement.
- Collation and presentation of monthly people data (absences, exits, trends etc..)
- Training promotion, monitoring of uptake, and effective recording and tracking.
- Recruitment and onboarding of new employees.
- Managing of performance management process and tracking.
- Gathering benchmarks on compensation and benefits, in addition to managing annual salary reviews.

**Qualifications**

CIPD Level 5 or equivalent

**Skills**
- First-class communication skills.
- Self-starter.
- Strong influencing skills.
- Confident individual, comfortable challenging others.
- Organised, proactive, literate and solution-focused.
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
- Strong IT skills and ability to work across a selection of platforms. CMS experience would be an advantage, as would knowledge of SAGE.
- A desire to work work on the "shop floor" as well as behind a desk.
