The Risk Specialist is responsible for helping to lead model developments and quantitative and qualitative analysis. As part of the Regulatory Modelling team you'll help to secure the foundations of our business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative analysis across our regulatory model suites, providing solutions to support the acquisition of new business, risk based account management and manage the banks capital across its Retail portfolios.
The Role
Providing day to day support for project team working on complex analytical/statistical modelling and data analysis to support the development of the banks models.
Clearly defining problem statements and researching and testing innovative solutions to address these.
Explaining complex concepts and outcomes in a way that all stakeholders can understand keeping it straightforward.
Leading key discussions and presenting analytical findings and solutions to a range of stakeholders both within and external to the modelling area.
Providing expert knowledge into with the scoping, design, development, validation and implementation models.
Actively engaging in the development of more junior analysts.
Significant experience of model development projects across a range of Retail or Non-Retail credit portfolios with an understanding of model usage.
Expertise in the use of statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS, Python, R) as well as MS Office.
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
Experience in building trusted relationships with stakeholders.
Experience in coaching more junior colleagues.
A team building mindset
Its a bonus if you have. but not essential
Advanced Degree (PhD, Masters) in a data science related area.
Coaching/mentoring experience.
Knowledge of the Basel Capital Requirements Regulation.
Ability to use persuasive arguments to influence key stakeholders
