Join our team as the Interim Head of Communications and play a crucial role in supporting the operation and shaping the future of London Gatwick. As part of our Corporate Affairs Department, you will be responsible for leading a busy communications team looking after press and media relations, internal and staff engagement as well as our corporate social and digital channels. You will also need to act calmly in times of disruption and help deliver effective corporate campaigns linked to the sustainable growth of the airport.
You will contribute to our purpose and drive the success of London Gatwick through promoting our vision to be the airport for everyone, whatever your journey.
**What will you do?**
- Keep under review the Airports communications strategy and ensure it is delivered in line with our business priorities.
- Collaborate with other departments to deliver coordinated messaging and activities that meet specific needs.
- Devise strategies to engage a diverse range of external stakeholders and connect Gatwick's actions with its messages effectively.
- Create proactive and reactive communications to safeguard Gatwick's interests and drive commercial growth.
- Manage crisis communications and provide trusted advice to senior colleagues and executives.
- Work closely with the HR team to deliver an internal communications strategy that fosters high employee engagement.
- Collaborate with the marketing and operations teams to implement a passenger communications strategy that enhances the customer experience.
- Support the development and implementation of the company's digital communications plans to enhance engagement and loyalty.
- Establish and implement processes to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the communications plan.
