**Senior Residential Children's Support Worker**

**Location** - Alford, Cranleigh

**Hours -** 40 hours a week plus one sleep-in.

**Salary**:

- £28,736.64 annually

Tezlom have a fantastic opportunity that has arisen to work as a children’s senior residential support worker. We are looking for dedicated and passionate residential support worker to work in our 4 bed home with boys aged 16 - 18 years.

**The Role-**
- To participate in the young boys group therapy, working alongside the group therapist, in blocks of 4 or 5 weeks.
- Attend the young people’s holiday.
- To attend staff meetings / supervision for 1½ hours on a weekly basis even when not on shift.
- To promote the welfare of the children as defined in the Children Act 1989.
- To ensure that all staff members are kept up to date with changes to procedures.
- Knowledge of safeguarding children’s procedures.
- To offer guidance and support to staff while on shift, particularly when dealing with incidents.
- Knowledge of safe practice and training in physical intervention.
- To inform the Manager as soon as is reasonably possible in matters of dispute.
- To make sure that young people and staff are kept safe and secure whilst out among the public.
- To be accountable for any decision made in regard to the welfare of the young people and staff members during the shifts that you lead.
- To support and encourage the young people to participate in decision making and planning.
- When on ‘sleeping-in’ duty complete a room check in the morning for each young person with respect to cleanliness and tidiness.
- To participate in and encourage house and outside sporting activities with the young people.

**Requirements -**
- Must be aged 25 and above
- Must of previously worked with you children
- NVQ level 3
