The Business Services and Outsourcing team are essential to meeting our clients' evolving requirements. As well as delivering long-term, sustainable value to businesses by providing a range of solutions such as accounting, payroll and compliance services, they also play a key role in tying together many of our services across BDO both domestically and internationally. By building deep and meaningful relationships with a range of clients from ambitious entrepreneurial SMEs to large multi-national groups, our BS&O team don’t just advise on their specific business challenges, they open doors for other teams to provide our firm’s wider service offering. You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

This role will primarily involve working closely with, and supporting, senior members within the team and assisting in the timely delivery of services. You will develop your existing understanding and experience in preparing sets of statutory accounts for small, medium and large companies, limited liability partnerships, as well as group consolidated accounts. You may also get involved in ad-hoc advisory work and other services including the preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts or more specialised areas like Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) returns. You’ll have the following personal responsibilities:

- Work efficiently and as part of a team to deliver work on a timely basis and to the required standard
- Produce statutory accounts under both UK GAAP and IFRS for review by more senior members of the team, including progression to working on consolidations and cash flows
- Use Caseware and OneSource final accounts package to complete accounts preparations
- Present a complete file on a small to medium sized job with mínimal assistance
- Work as part of a team to provide ad-hoc accounting assistance and advice and ensure clients are provided with excellent service
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Focus on client service excellence
- Ensure all team needs are met in regards to answering queries promptly
- Be committed to delivering what is requested and inform superiors of any issues at an early stage
- Take responsibility for own development by being self-motivated and taking all relevant opportunities to learn
- Successfully study towards your professional qualification
- Listen to and act on the advice of others, be open to feedback from others
- Able to prioritise and manage tasks set
- Embrace change with an adaptable and flexible working attitude

You’ll be someone with:

- Ideally AAT qualification or part-qualified
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of accounting packages would be beneficial
