**What you’ll be doing**

Your role will be to support the Operations Manager and Senior Porter with all operational functions associated with the day-to-day operation of the building while delivering a 4* service to all users of IET London: Savoy Place.

**A little more about the role**

**Hospitality and Service**
- To set up the Conference and Banqueting areas with furniture in the required layout according to the weekly worksheets including any updated versions. This includes the erection and dismantling of scaffolding.
- To ensure the layouts are completed to the agreed standards.
- To be pro-active and anticipate, understand our customer’s needs and expectations.
- To be an exceptional and professional ambassador for IET London: Savoy Place in all your business relationships.
- To ensure that all staff maintain the highest quality of guest’s service standards and highlight any training needs that may be required. The objective is to exceed guest, supplier and fellow colleagues expectations at all times whether in operations oradministration tasks.
- To assist the Audio Visual Manager and AV Team where required.
- To assist with deliveries and collections.
- To identify any cleaning requirements or other issues and inform the Senior Porter or Duty Manager
- To assist the library staff with movement of archive material within the building and to/from Savoy Hill House.

**Facilities Management (FM)**
- To ensure that any transportation equipment of furniture is carried out in a way that does not damage it or the fabric of the building
- To ensure that equipment not being used is stored safely and securely
- To ensure that all reactive maintenance works are reported either to the Senior Porter of Duty Manager
- To assist the Senior Porter in ensuring the building and facilities are fully operated with limited down time to members, guests and staff.

**Financial Management & Sales Development**
- To ensure any breakages are entered into the log and making the Senior Porter aware of any replacements that may be required.
- To maintain a culture of reducing waste, increasing energy efficiency and concern for the environment.

**People Management & Development**
- To undertake training as required especially Health and Safety and Manual Handling training
- To carry out specific duties as required ensuring all Front of House and Back of House areas are fully covered
- To contribute in a Team Spirit to achieve excellence and meet IET values.
- Ensure that the department SOP manuals are being followed and updated to improve service.

**Communication**
- Be an ambassador of IET initiatives and values, be it internally or externally
- To deputise for the Senior Porter and attend the Daily Operations Meeting and Weekly Operations Planning Meeting as required
- To ensure any issues are reported without delay to the Senior Porter.

**Health & Safety**
- Ensure that all appropriate issues are communicated to the Senior Porter or Duty Manager
- Ensure the personal security of all, yourself, staff, guests and contractors together with their belongings.
- To adhere to the Health & Safety and Fire policies for the charity and UK law and act as a Fire Warden as required.

**Planning & Organising**
- To ensure proper interrogation of the weekly sheets to prevent operational issues
- Ensure effective Porterage cover within the IET London: Savoy Place at all times.
