**JOB OVERVIEW**

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an HR Generalist / Human Resources Advisor who is customer focussed with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a good understanding of employment law and current legislations.

Working as an HR Generalist / Human Resources Advisor you will be the first point of contact for any HR issues and will be required to draft and review internal documentation to ensure compliance and best practise is maintained.

As an HR Generalist / Human Resources Advisor you will report to the Group Human Resources Manager and will at times involve regular travel to other sites within the company.

**DUTIES**

Your role as HR Generalist / Human Resources Advisor will include:

- Being the first point of contact for any HR issues
- Developing and reviewing HR policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practice
- Implementing systems of work and high-performance practices such as performance management, selection and promotion, induction, communication, managers-employees relationship and driving the change within the business
- Advising management team on HR related issues including absence management, performance management, grievance and disciplinary
- Supporting managers in disciplinary investigations and hearings up to and including dismissals
- Ensuring employees are treated fairly, consistently and in line with current employment law and best practice, resolving problems and conflicts before they escalate
- Manage the time and attendance system
- Learning & Development; full management of training plan, NVQ facilitator, monitor course refreshers, training agreements issued with staff and assess the market place for government funding

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**
- Previous demonstratable experience in a similar role, ideally from a manufacturing background
- CIPD Level 5 would be beneficial but not essential
- Ability to implement and drive change
- Understanding of employment law and current legislation, with the awareness of any pending changes that can affect the company
- Proficiency in commonly used word processing software packages such as MS Office suite
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of the hiring process
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
- A customer-focused outlook with a high level of discretion and professionalism
- The ability to work well with team members and management
- Cultural awareness and excellent interpersonal skills
- Organisational skills for storing and accessing different types of information daily basis
