The Carington Estate includes residential, commercial and agricultural property in and around High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Milton Keynes, Spalding and West Rasen.
**KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Maintaining and enhancing the physical condition, servicing and appearance of the Estate’s buildings
- Management of direct labour and external contractors to optimise performance and value
- Planning and delivery of scheduled and reactive property maintenance works in a safe, cost effective and timely manner.
- Assistance with management of larger projects
- Prioritise and allocate maintenance requests in an efficient and timely manner. Maintain records of pending and completed tasks.
- Prepare cost estimates, assist with and adhere to budgets
- Coordinate routine testing and servicing of M&E plant and machinery including domestic boilers, heat pumps, electrical systems, treatment plant, fire and security systems.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability
- Communication with occupiers to keep them informed about the planning and progress of works.
- Competitive procurement of goods and services
- Monitoring the quality of work, ensuring best value and compliance with relevant standards and legislation
- Health & Safety compliance
- Assist in providing effective out-of-hours emergency cover.
**Personal Qualities**
- Broad property maintenance experience including traditional and historic buildings
- Ability to communicate positively and effectively
- Initiative, enthusiasm, resourcefulness, practicality
- High level of attention to detail
- Proven track record in working to budgets
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements
- Full and clean driving licence.
- Applicants must have the right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
- Core work hours will be 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, based at the Bledlow Estate office but covering all parts of the Estate. A vehicle will be provided for business use.
The successful applicant will be expected to embrace the flexibility that this role and the associated responsibilities requires.
**Salary**: £38,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
