**Position Purpose**:
We are seeking an experienced Production Controller to join our busy mechanical production team at our brand new site in Haverhill.

Processing of all drawings, files, bills of materials, and requests relating to the manufacturing process. Ensuring they are collated within the site planning systems and that all manufacturing requirements are sent to the Mechanical Production department for actioning. To support this, the Production Controller will be responsible to organising the purchasing and manufacturing works into a daily production plan that can be presented to key members of the Mechanical Production team.

They will also be required to monitor and report on whether production targets are being achieved, highlighting deficiencies or irregularities with incoming production requests, whilst recommending improvements in processes or working practices. They will help to monitor and maintain inventory level.

**Main Outcomes of the Position**:

- Ensure that all incoming production requests are acknowledged and processed into business planning systems
- Ensure that relevant drawings, bills of materials, and any other required worksheets are printed for the Mechanical Production department
- Ensure requirement dates & manufacturing operations are assigned to works orders within EPICOR.
- Daily reporting of manufacturing slippages, or lead time delays on bought out parts
- Monitor inventory levels and liaise with the procurement team to ensure stock levels are managed.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure incoming production requests are acknowledged promptly.
- Provide helpful feedback to improve the quality of incoming production requests.
- Engage with team members in each manufacturing area to ensure plans are realistic and achievable
- Understand and coordinate the production plan to effectively decide the running order of the daily plans
- Oversight of purchasing systems to ensure all orders have been placed in a timely manner
- Point of contact for team members to chase up on missing parts or quality issues
- Effective time management to ensure balance between daily issue snagging, planning and new production request - flagging up when support is required.
- Flag up production delays to the wider team to prompt and participate in discussions to mitigate the impact where necessary.
- Responsible for engaging and co-ordinating the relevant staff members to effectively process manufacturing revisions and changes
- Ensure all current job numbers are active and available for staff members to view and clock to
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs in accordance to current production forecasts
- Track orders to ensure timely delivery
- Liaise with inventory staff to ensure products arrive accordingly and to quality standards
- Adhere to all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Proven experience within a production / industrial engineering environment
- Engineering aptitude
- Understanding of numerical and mathematical calculations and data
- Working knowledge with an ERP system, EPICOR advantageous
- Understanding of how to manage and coordinate production plans
- 3 years + experience in a production scheduling/sequencing role
- IT literate, specifically Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail
- Troubleshooting skills
- Adherence to health and safety policies
- Confidence to work independently or as part of a team
- Detailed oriented and extremely efficient
- Right to work in the UK
