We are looking for a Head of Quality to lead the team, based either in Glasgow or with a weekly presence in Glasgow. You will hold a degree in life sciences or equivalent and strong experience in operational and/or strategic Quality Management functions within a laboratory/ biopharma manufacturing environment.

Our Cell Line and Testing Services Business Unit has a position for an experienced Head of Quality. This part of the business provides laboratory testing services as well as manufacture of reagents |cell culture|. Laboratories and manufacturing facilities are in Glasgow in the UK, Ulm in Germany and Cambridge, Massachusetts in the US.

Your role will be to define and carry out the Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards on product group/operational unit level, in line with the company’s standards, regulations and norms. Your goal will be to drive harmonisation between sites and business areas and to improve quality standards and tools. You will have a strong background in driving GMP standards, leading teams and initiating continuous improvement projects. You will be based either in Glasgow or with weekly presence in Glasgow |Monday - Thursday|, with up to 25% international travel. This role may have expanded international scope in the future.

**What you will accomplish together with us**
- Leading and developing high performing international quality teams
- Overall management of the Cell Line and Testing quality groups
- Maintenance and continuous improvement of our quality system
- Providing expert guidance and leadership on items relating to cGMP compliance, including compliance to corporate standards, internal and external audits, processes, validation, process media simulations and process interventions and deviations
- Working with regulatory inspections and liaising with regulatory bodies |e.g., MHRA, FDA etc, as required
- Managing client audits
- Reporting to the Heads of Sites and collaborating with internal stakeholders across the business
- Managing the business unit quality budget
- Mentoring, training and assessing internal teams on quality and regulatory issues
- Providing advice / guidance on any compliance issues and regulations

**What will convince us**
- A degree in life sciences or equivalent; masters’ degree would be beneficial
- Strong experience in operational and/or strategic Quality Management functions within a laboratory/ biopharma manufacturing environment
- Be the Subject matter Expert in at least one of the areas of validation |assay, equipment, CSV|
- Proven regulatory compliance track record within a GMP or GLP environment with excellent knowledge of current biopharmaceutical production technologies, QC procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Exceptional leadership and motivational skills with ability to manage high performance teams
- Highly collaborative and capable of working within a global, matrix-based organisation
- Extremely organised approach coupled with the ability to influence without authority
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High levels of confidence to challenge existing systems and processes
