Newman invests in securing successful outcomes for its students, and this exciting new role is a key part of that approach. Using a range of data points the postholder will proactively identify students for whom accessing support provision could be transformative. We are committed to treating students as individuals and understanding their unique situations and challenges, and using this information to connect them with the wide range of support provision we have available. This role, working in collaboration with a wide range of Newman colleagues, will be central to ensuring that student’s achieve the success they deserve.

The role will manage a case load of students who are in low attendance scenarios, and students who have been identified as having the potential to benefit from support provision available to them. The role is all about making connections; with students, with support providers, and crucially linking the two together. In addition to casework the role will be responsible for raising an awareness of the academic support provision available at Newman and ensuring that students have clear and accessible ways of engaging with these sessions. The role will be at the heart of a ‘hub and spoke’ approach to coordinating, encouraging, and enabling engagement with support, working closely with Academic Personal Tutors, Professional Services colleagues, the Students Union, and external partners.
