**Job description**

This is a Level 3 AAT Apprenticeship role - split 80/20 between working and earning with the employer gaining valuable hands on skills, and learning & gaining qualifications with Solveway Apprenticeships

The role will provide the opportunity for someone who has a genuine interest in accountancy to start their career. It will enable you to develop your accountancy and taxation knowledge and experience working within an accountancy practice.

The role will be varied and you will be provided 'on-the-job' training to support your AAT apprenticeship studies. Are you looking to build a long-term career in finance and administration?

**What will the apprentice be doing?**
- Assist in processing invoices, verifying expenses, and managing payments.
- Handle customer invoicing and assist in credit control
- Support in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements
- Accurately record financial transactions in the accounting system and maintain organised financial records
- Assist in reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager to contribute to budget preparation and forecasting exercises
- Update and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate allocation of transactions and ensuring approval procedures are followed for all financial entries o Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, helping to produce financial reports within set deadlines
- Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and company policies
- Assist in conducting basic financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement that can support decisionmaking processes
- Actively engage in AAT coursework and training to progress toward AAT qualifications
- Provide general administrative assistance to the Finance Manager as required
