Pre-registration Education Officer's work closely with the Education Quality Assurance Lead and programme providers to champion opportunities, developments and innovation in occupational therapy pre-registration education programmes whilst ensuring highstandards of delivery through its quality assurance mechanisms.

- registration education, learning and early career entry into the profession.

**Description**

Deliver RCOT's pre-registration accreditation and quality monitoring and enhancement procedures and processes, managing allocated accreditation events at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) around the UK from beginning through to completion providing supportand guidance to accreditors and the programme team.

Work collaboratively and effectively with a range of stakeholders in pre-registration education ensuring the successful implementation of RCOT's Learning and development standards for pre-registration education.

Work collaboratively with the Education Quality Assurance Lead and other team members to ensure a co-ordinated, cohesive and robust approach to the quality assurance, monitoring and enhancement processes offered by the RCOT pre-registration team.

Promote RCOT's role in terms of supporting, developing and protecting the domain knowledge of the profession in the UK and the benefits of RCOT accreditation for both the education provider and its learners, maintaining the good reputation of RCOT withinthe education sector.

Actively contribute a quality perspective and to the implementation of the RCOT Learning and development standards and associated processes and support education providers to work within these frameworks.

Provide accurate and timely support and guidance to education providers' teams during the planning and preparation for submission of their programme/s for re-/accreditation.

Prepare for and attend re-/accreditation panel meetings as the lead RCOT Officer, taking responsibility for the implementation of RCOT's accreditation process, providing guidance and support to accreditors regarding their roles and further strengtheningthe position and reputation of RCOT in the process.

Actively lead the RCOT panel to develop and accurately record the outcomes of re
- /accreditation events at their conclusion, sharing the outcomes concisely and effectively in writing following the meeting.

Contribute to the administrative processes related to the re-/accreditation of all occupational therapy pathways.

Take an active role in the Annual Monitoring process, ensuring that data collected is accurate for the purpose of informing the detailed learner intake information required both within the organisation and wider stakeholders in health and education.

Provide timely support, advice and constructive guidance from the Royal College's perspective in response to pre-registration learners' enquiries, identifying when to seek more senior advice.

Support programme team members and other general enquirers seeking advice and guidance in relation to pre-registration education matters.

Respond to enquiries from members, non-members and programme teams relating to preregistration education and quality monitoring and enhancement related matters.

**Profile**

A skilled administrator with experience within a higher education, health care organisation or professional membership body in a role focusing on education and development.

Have a good working knowledge of UK Quality Monitoring policies and procedures within higher education.

Demonstrate highly effective verbal and written communication skills and an ability to inform and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.

Demonstrate effective organisational skills and an ability to prioritise and manage workload to meet deadlines.

Consistent excellent written communication skills and the ability to produce concise, timely and accurate records.

Demonstrate the ability to network, liaise, negotiate and co-operate with colleagues internally and externally, including those in other professions/organisations and those in senior leadership and/or management positions.

Ability to distil complex material into accurate, concise and clear written formats i.e. reports, records and briefings.

Willingness to travel within the UK outside normal office hours, and occasionally outside normal working days, and to stay overnight when required.

Demonstrate a positive, helpful and flexible attitude to work content and hours worked.

Confident interpersonal skills, with the ability to talk to colleagues at all levels and provide advice to different audiences.
