A versatile Plater (Metal surface treatment operative) / Workshop operative is required at our busy factory based in New Basford, Nottingham.

This is a full time position available with an immediate start. Due to the job being very manual it will only suit a person (male or female) who is physically fit and able. (We would be happy to support an apprenticeship program for a mature /retraining person.)

This role will initially involve handling metal parts for electroplating and hand wiring for the process. Therefore, applicants must be dextrous with their hands; capable of operating a forklift and pump track to manoeuvre the goods in/out & throughout the workshop. Forklift licence isn’t necessary but will be an advantage (training will be given).

The successful applicant will progress into the plating shop, where several electroplating processes/ metal finishes are carried out.

Due to the nature of the process/business in general, there will be downtimes and it would ideally suit someone with old school values, who is proactive and would happily sweep the floors, pick up a paintbrush etc. as and when needed, along with keeping their work areas clean and tidy.

The applicant will be required to be flexible and multitask at all times.

This role will include:

- Hand wiring/hooking metal articles for electroplating
- Loading/unloading goods (use of forklift / pallet truck / lifting boxes )
- Carrying out electroplating processes and other metal treatments

This role is critically important for the smooth operation of the business. We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude. If you are a well-organised person that likes to keep busy and doesn’t mind getting your hands dirty, this might be just the job for you.

The working week will consist of Mon-Friday 8am-4:30pm starting at the national minimum (living) wage, depending on experience.
