Headington, United Kingdom Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with an interest in intestinal failure (IF) and Parenteral Nutrition (TPN). You will work alongside a Team Lead Dietitian and two Band 6 IF Dietitians. This post is supported by the wider multidisciplinary Nutrition Support Team (NST), who value and respect the role of the Dietitians.

Oxford University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (OUHFT) is a designated integrated surgical Intestinal Failure Centre, providing IF services to inpatients, a caseload of outpatients supported with Home Parenteral Nutrition (HPN) and we support other centres both locally and nationally with in patient PN and HPN and complex feeding issues. OUHFT is also one of two UK designated intestinal transplant centres.

This highly specialist role is based within the dietetic team and delivers complex clinical nutrition support as part of the trust’s NST to patients with IF, particularly in surgery, oncology, colorectal and specialist gastroenterology ward areas and to patients on the ICUs across the trust. Alongside this inpatient work, there is a weekly consultant led clinic for patients on HPN and/or with complex nutritional needs.

We encourage every Band 7 to protect 30% of their time within the role to development, for both their own growth and development and for that of the service. As an expanding intestinal failure service, this role provides a great opportunity to further develop both your clinical and leadership skills.
