**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Grade**:H3

**Responsible to**: Site Manager

**Main Responsibilities**:

- To work as part of the site management team in ensuring the satisfactory operation and maintenance of the school’s building and grounds, providing a clean, healthy and safe environment.

**Job Context**:
You will be based in the site office but in practice will be operating around the whole school. The Site
Management team play a vital role in supporting the effective day to day management of the school and good communication and reliability is essential.

**How you do the job**:

- To support the maintenance and security of the school’s buildings and grounds.
- To carry out general porterage duties, including movement of furniture and equipment within the school.
- To carry out handyman duties including minor repairs to furniture and fixtures and small decorating tasks including some specialist work inline with your skills and capability.
- To undertake daily and periodic spot cleaning (including replenishment of supplies) of all areas of the school buildings and grounds according to schedule of work.
- To liaise with contractors and maintenance workers as requested by the Site Manager, School Business

Manager or Headteacher.
- To have a good eye for detail and take a proactive role in identifying and improving aspects of site maintenance in conjunction with the Site Manager, ensuring site is well maintained and looking its best at all times.
- The postholder will be a designated key holder of the school for emergency access to the premises.
- Support with evening/weekend lettings (for which additional payment will be made).

**Knowledge, experience and training**
- Flexibility and sensitivity to the needs of a wide range of users of the school is essential.
- Knowledge of efficient cleaning methods and materials.
- Ability to complete handyperson or DIY tasks.
- Flexibility on working hours for events in school, to support with staff absences or with unforeseen occurrences.

Headteacher to discuss whole-school issues and contribute to the overall development of the school. It is a requirement of all staff that they sign the IT Acceptable User Policy and attend Safeguarding and Prevent training.
