**Job summary**:
The role is to provide administrative and contract management support to the procurement team at Cefas. This small but busy team secure a range of contracts covering the full breadth of goods and services that Cefas requires to deliver its science.

This is a diverse role and will primarily involve managing suppliers in line with contract management principles to form exceptional value adding relationships, providing consistent service delivery whilst advising the wider Cefas on the best approach to buying a variety of low value purchases. The role will also include running small scale procurement exercises.

The post is interesting and varied. It requires pro-activity, good communication skills and an outgoing and enthusiastic approach to challenges with excellent attention to detail. The procurement team is well-established and has a great team ethos focused upon procurement excellence, continuous improvement, robust contract management and knowledge sharing.

**Job description**:
The main roles and responsibilities for this position include, but are not restricted to:

- Managing supplier delivery though good contract management principles and practices;
- Building, maintaining and managing supplier relationships and keeping up good communications, ensuring that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships;
- Running monthly spend reports across a variety of requirements;
- Creating tender and contractual documentation from standard templates;
- Supporting the low value request for quotation process including commercial evaluations and contract award;
- Building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal colleagues and closely participating in Cefas initiatives;
- Managing any administration of the internal Procurement SharePoint site as well as updates to the Cefas intranet; and
- Providing administrative support to the wider Procurement team on larger procurements, contracts, or renewals.

**Person specification**:
The following are essential criteria required for this role and you must be able to demonstrate your skills and experience in the following areas:

- Experience of working collaboratively across a range of stakeholders to gain buy-in using appropriate communication & influencing skills;
- Ability to manage relationships to ensure continuity of delivery and continuous improvement;
- Experience of working effectively as part of a team, taking ownership of tasks and contributing ideas to colleagues;
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written with experience in delivering in an online/virtual environment as well as in person;
- Accuracy and good eye for detail with the ability to absorb detailed information sometimes lengthy in nature;
- Experience of using MS Office 365 including MS Teams, Word, Excel and/or other web-based systems;
- Ability to work flexibly and to organise and re-prioritise own workload to meet deadlines; and
- Good organisation skills and ability to manage multiple tasks across a variety of different categories.

Academic qualification required for this post is a relevant Level 3 qualification, however, demonstrable relevant work experience will be considered.
