Key responsibilities of the Tax Semi Senior role will include:

- preparing tax returns for both audit and non-audited clients
- preparing ERS and EMI returns
- dealing with client queries and HMRC enquiries
- responding to internal tax queries from other departments
- attending our audit clients on-site to prepare draft computations alongside the audit process
- opportunity to assist with specialist tax consultancy projects, particularly R&D claims, share schemes and corporate transactions where appropriate
- managing own flow of work
- at least 1-2 year’s relevant accountancy practice experience in tax
- studying towards ATT/CTA/ACA/ACCA/other similar qualification
- excellent client relationship skills and the ability to nurture existing clients
- ability to explain complex tax issues in plain English for all levels of understanding
- proactive, motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- organised and adaptable
- the ability to prioritise work and to work to strict timescales where required
- technical proficiency and good IT skills specifically intermediate Excel
- previous experience of using CCH is an advantage
- experience with QIPs, R&D claims and capital allowances a distinct advantage
