**Intervention Learning Support Assistant - Start as soon as possible (notice accepted) - Arundel, West Sussex, UK.**

This is a wonderful opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our schools team, with the ability to work with & support students. The post will offer the opportunity to work directly with young people that experience dyspraxia, dyslexia & other communication difficulties. Our client is a very successful KS2-4 SEND School with particular strength in meeting the diverse needs of all students. You will report to the Schools Deputy Head/SENCo.

**£11.85 per hour, Temp to Perm (12 Weeks),**:
Duties and Responsibilities:
**Planning**

1. Plan and prepare interventions with the SENCo/therapist/class teacher,

participating in all stages of the plan-do-review cycle, including in lesson planning,

evaluating and adjusting lessons/work plans.

2. Develop and prepare resources for learning/therapy activities in accordance with

lesson plans and in response to pupil’s needs.

3. Contribute to the planning of opportunities for pupils to learn in out-of-school

contexts in line with College policies and procedures.

**Teaching and Learning**

4. Within an agreed system of supervision and within a pre-determined lesson

framework, deliver interventions to identified pupils.

5. Provide detailed verbal and written feedback on lesson content, pupil responses to

learning activities and pupil behaviour, to the SENCo/therapist.

6. Motivate and progress students’ learning by using clearly structured, interesting

teaching and learning activities; taking EHCP’s into consideration.

7. Be familiar with lesson plans, ILP targets and learning objectives.

8. Be aware of and support difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to

opportunities to learn and develop.

9. Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils, including those with specific needs,

both in learning activities and within the classroom.

10.Use behaviour management strategies effectively and in line with the College’s

policy and procedures.

11.Organise and safely manage the appropriate learning environment and resources.

12.Promote and reinforce children’s self-esteem and independence and employ

strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance.

13.Support the role of parents in pupils’ learning and contribute to meetings with

parents to provide constructive feedback on students’ progress, achievement and

behaviour, maintaining sensitivity and confidentiality at all times.

**Monitoring and Assessment**

14.With SENCo/therapists/teachers evaluate pupils’ progress through a range of

assessment activities.

15.Assess pupils’ responses to learning tasks and where appropriate, modify methods

to meet individual and/or group needs.

16.Monitor pupils’ participation and progress and provide constructive feedback to

pupils in relation to their progress and achievement.

17.Assist in maintaining and analysing records of pupils’ progress.

**Behavioural and Pastoral**

18.Recognise and challenge any incidents of racism, bullying, harassment,

victimisation and any form of abuse of equal opportunities, ensuring compliance

with relevant school policies and procedures and making sure the individual/s

involved understand it is unacceptable.

**Other**

19.To use information technology systems as required to carry out the duties of the

post in the most efficient and effective manner.

20.The post holder should actively seek to increase individuals’ mental fitness,

wellbeing and resilience through both the sessions they deliver and all of their

interactions with members of the community.

**General**

21.To contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the College.

22.To work at all times in a safe manner in consideration to the College risk

assessments and to report all accidents to Matron in line with statutory

requirements.

23.To participate in training and other learning activities and performance and

professional development as required.

24.Maintain and record accurate information in line with Compliance and GDPR

regulations. Be aware of and comply with current legislation concerning Equal

Opportunities, Health & Safety at Work, Fire Safety, General Data Protection

Regulation and Freedom of Information. Be aware of and comply with the College’s

policies and procedures relating to Child Protection/Safeguarding, health & safety,

security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the

appropriate person.
