We are looking for a 0.8 whole time equivalent Trust Ophthalmology Doctor to join our Acute District General Hospital team. We have a post for Medical Retina, the post is fixed term of up to 12 months. A broad range of general ophthalmology experience can be provided, with some limited access to cataract surgery. Previous experience in medical retina is desirable however not essential. There is also potential to support some of the 1 st on call rota.
Applicants should have or be eligible for full GMC registration, experience in Ophthalmology is essential with some knowledge within Medical retina.
Depending on your level of experience the position will concentrate predominantly on Medical Retina with the option for a small amount of on call responsibilities. This position is a maternity leave cover however the cover can be adapted dependant upon previous experience.
So integral to the responsibilities of our posts are the following objectives:

We provide acute hospital services from two large district general hospitals, Cheltenham General Hospital and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Maternity Services are also provided at Stroud Maternity Hospital. We remain the major provider of secondary care services in the area and analysis shows that for Gloucestershire we are the leading acute healthcare provider by a significant margin.
