Casual Relief Chauffer/macebearer

Job description

We are looking to appoint a Relief Mayor’s Chauffeur/Macebearer to support the Mayor/Deputy Mayor in carrying out their civic duties.

This role will involve driving the Mayor/Deputy Mayor to engagements when the Chauffeur/Macebearer is unavailable. These will mainly be within the borough and you will drive the civic electric car. Occasionally you will be required to act as Macebearer at Council meetings.

You will have an understanding of civic protocols and be able to act in a dignified manner when supporting the Mayor/Deputy Mayor in their role. It is also important that you are personable, flexible and able to think on your feet.

Weekends, evenings and bank holiday work may be required to suit the timing of engagements accepted by the Mayor/Deputy Mayor.

A full valid and clean driving licence is essential.
