Do you enjoy working as part of a busy team?

As an Outpatients Receptionist you will be working as part of a busy department, working closely with both patients and clinicians. The main responsability of the role are greeting and booking patients into clinics and booking next appointments.

We are looking for an individual who is helpful, organised and has a flexible approach to work.

Hours of work will be between a shift pattern 07.30-15.30 and 09.00-17:00 on a rotation basis every week.

There are 2 posts available - 1 x 37.5 hours a week and 1 x 25 hours per week position.

- Excellent communication skills
- Good customer service skills - face to face contact with the general public
- Proven keyboard, telephony and clerical skills
- Respect confidentiality
- Maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to operate effectively as part of a team

Book follow-up appointments for patients when they have attended clinic.
Cancelling or amending appointments on instruction from management,
clinicians, secretaries and other departments as required.
Update any patient demographic information as necessary.
Process requests for interpreters for outpatient appointments as required.
Cover for annual leave and sickness as required.
Assist other areas and member of the department when necessary.
Participate in any initiatives within the department to improve working practices.
Monitor clinic utilisation and availability for the following week, information the specialty team leader when required.
