CNC Turner

Cordius are working with a precision CNC machining facility specialising in complex prismatic parts for transmission and drive trains for aerospace, motorsport and the oil and gas industries.

They are currently looking for a CNC Turnerto join their growing team in Witham, Essex. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company who supports progression.

**Working Pattern**:
Monday to Friday 7:30 am
- 4pm (40 hours) with 2 x 15mins paid breaks and 30mins unpaid lunch break.

**Role Purpose**:
To be involved in programming, setting and operating CNC machines. You will be involved in machining interesting parts that are small to medium batch quantities. The applicant will be required to create programs with experience using CNC lathes on Mazakmachining centres. You will need to understand drawings with close tolerances and be experienced in machining different types of materials.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plans machining by studying works orders
- Directly involved in continuous improvement programs and quality control.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions.
- Documents actions.
- Exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Program, set and operate lathes
- Read drawings and understand critical features
- Find efficient methods of producing parts
- Write, prove and run programs
- Troubleshoot problems
- Inspect parts to Drawings
- Continuously look to improve methods, efficiency, and procedures
- Work to high precision machining.
- Work to close tolerances on a variety of materials to engineering drawings.
- Experienced in work holding methods and best practices
- Operating tools to engineering drawings and designs

**Desired Requirements**:

- Preferably someone who has used Hypermill Camware but this is not essential other as systems would be considered i.e. Delcam, Edge Cam, etc.
- Program Mazak Machines
- Apprentice Trained
