Your challenge would be to help us continuously develop and grow our business by involving yourself into the development of our metal powders used in our printing.

You will be part of our Engineering team, working 37.5 hours per week, **Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm**, however, we can be flexible to accommodate an earlier or later start.

3T AM, part of Beamit Group, is a market leader in Advanced Manufacturing, utilising additive manufacturing to produce high performance metallic components for household name companies across Aerospace, Defence, Space, Energy, and Industrial sectors.

You will be joining 3T AM at one of the most exciting times in our 26-year history, with an increasing demand from our customers looking for a quicker and cost-effective way of producing metal components.

We have circa. 38 employees, we might be small, but we have BIG growth plans and looking to almost double our size in the next few years.

**What is Metal Additive Manufacturing?**

Additive Manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, is the process of using advanced technology to deposit thin layers of metal powder combined with thermal lasers to selectively consolidate the material into a solid. This creates parts/components that canbe more complex in design and lighter in weight than the traditional subtractive technologies, where material is removed or shaped.

**Your role as a Materials Engineer**:

- You will be responsible for material development, evaluating productivity, material quality, and dimensional characteristics of the Metal powders used in our 3D printing machines
- You will manage MRL status list and milestone data collection along with managing the total data and SPC charts for ALL materials including collaboration and manufacturing points.
- You will determine the most effective and economical method of manufacture whilst meeting customer/drawing requirements
- You will manage specific customer requirements for post processing including HT to ensure mechanical properties are met
- You will represent 3T Additive Manufacturing as the material Subject Matter Expert in discussions with customer technical personnel
- You will also support the production teams to ensure material quality performance, solving production and quality related issues when required
- You will make points of contact with external representatives including suppliers, consultants and controlling authorities within guidelines set by relevant departments e.g. Commercial or Engineering

**About you**:

- You will have previous Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering experience OR a degree in this specialism
- You will have good knowledge of working with variations of materials, ideally metals, with a good understanding of material structure
- A background in casting or forging would be considered
