To provide effective supervision within the logistics team ensuring a continued professional and responsive service is delivered to meet the needs of patients, staff and visitors. This post requires you to be hands on working within the team undertaking all duties that are may be required within the Porter Team.

To deliver the service within budgetary restraints set by the line manager.

Completion of work rota’s, recording sickness and absence and approving annual leave, liaising with the Portering Team Leader as required. Planning and Undertaking planned staff appraisals Deliver and record mandatory training and any training required for the porter role.

Complete and update Trust Mandatory Training Waste Handling Infection Prevention Control Moving and Handling Training NVQ - support services/cleaning Infection Prevention Control Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Leadership Level 2 Course (NVQ/Apprenticeship) Mortuary training and training staff Undertake Tug training.

Communicate and liaise effectively with work colleagues, managers, and clinical teams in accordance with Trust values.

Working flexibly within the porters HUB or mobile around the site as part of a team as a team lead

Observing and monitoring the team ensuring they are working safely reporting to the Logistics Coordinator any identified bad practice

Service Delivery & Development

Be competent to use after training and able to train other team members to
use electronic device specific to the role.

To have a good knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the
service prior to and following training.

Maintaining the necessary skills and undertaking the relevant training to fulfil your role and your personal development.

Patient/Customer Service

Ensuring that consistently a high standard of customer service is delivered at all times

GENERAL

This job description indicates the main functions and responsibilities of the post. It is not intended to be a complete list. Your role will involve working within a team to lead an effective Portering Service which delivers a timely responsive and efficient service for the movement of patients, materials and equipment within the site. You will also undertake various other specified support and ancillary tasks to meet the needs of the service.

You will be Responsible for scheduling and reactive flow of tasks requested
prioritising and allocating to staff to meet the needs of the service. Ensuring that the most urgent requests are allocated and completed in a timely manner.

Monitor stock levels of linen within the department ensuring that sufficient linen is always available within each area and reporting to the Logistics Co-ordinator in the event of any shortfalls.

Regularly monitor waste collections within the department to ensure that bins are routinely emptied and relined as required and that waste is correctly segregated and stored/removed
