Calderdale, United Kingdom Lingo by Wendy Lee Ltd. Full time

_**We have a fantastic opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to work with children with speech, language and communication needs in mainstream schools.**_
- **Band 5 or 6 depending on experience.**_

**Company description**

We are an independent family business providing speech and language therapy and consultancy to Trusts, schools and settings. We deliver training courses, conferences and qualifications across the country. We have also developed a range of resources to support the communication skills of the children we work with. We believe in evidence based practice and are working nationally with charities and universities on various projects and research.

**Job description**

This post is full time, term time plus 4 weeks (term time only is available if desired), working in primary and secondary mainstream schools in the Calderdale area.

You will work in a number of schools on a regular basis, working with staff to support best practice in developing and supporting children’s speech, language and communication, and working directly with pupils. The role involves working with children with a range of language difficulties, working predominantly with small groups and within mainstream classrooms.

There is also an opportunity to work on a national research project as part of the role; training and support will be given as part of the project.

We are a small, highly motivated team who are passionate about the importance of communication and developing these crucial skills in the children and young people we work with. We believe strongly in evidence based practice and in capturing the impact we are having on children’s speech, language and communication.

We are looking for someone with similar values to join our team. You will need to be well organised, have the ability to work flexibly and to seek support when needed. Experience is less important than the right ethos; to be passionate about what you do and provide a robust and reliable service to our schools, teaching staff and pupils.

As an independent therapy service, we collaborate with NHS colleagues wherever possible and work with schools to involve parents.
