Your role at a glance
We are looking for highly motivated **Group Protection Claims Consultants** to join the team in **Hove**. This is a **Hybrid** role where you will work 1-2 days a week in the office and the rest from home, Monday-Friday. As a Claims Consultant you'll be making a difference to our customers. Making sure that their claim is dealt with sensitively and accurately.

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Group Protection Claims, ensuring a smooth and efficient claims process, and delivering excellent customer service to our clients.

What you'll be doing
- Validating and triaging new Group Protection claims by completing all the required data checks and where appropriate, through liaison with other Group Protection Operations teams.
- Preparing new and existing Group Protection claims for payment, calculating and revising the annual benefit payable. Ensuring that appropriate documentation is issued.
- Where appropriate requesting medical evidence on new and existing Group Protection claims, from GPs, consultants and other medical specialists.
- Ensuring that claims are reviewed in line with targeted dates as specified during the assessment process.
- Developing and building effective relationships with IFA’s and Policyholders (employers), in order to maximise the effectiveness of our benefit management processes including the provision of support for the portfolio management of defined schemes.
- Where appropriate, assisting in the provision of Management Information on portfolio accounts which analyses performance and identifies key trends.
- Ensuring a consistent, timely and accurate level of service is maintained in line with service level agreements and promises made to meet customers’ expectations, and that are within scope of Legal & General’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policies.
- Adhering to processes and systems to ensure that all customer data is dealt with. appropriately in accordance with legislation, GDPR, the Access to Medical Reports Act (1988) and Legal & General’s Confidentiality policy.

What we're looking for
- Claims background desirable but not essential as training will be provided
- Experience of working within Financial Services.
- The drive to take ownership of and resolve customer queries and complaints.
- Excellent IT skills in Word, Excel and other Microsoft products.
- Ability to work to deadlines and targets.
- Ability to work within authorised approval limits as agreed by the Head of Claims.
- Capability to carry out thorough and comprehensive investigations to determine eligibility of a Group Protection Claim.
