What does a SEND Consultant do at Hillingdon?
**Fixed Term | £850 per day | Full Time**
Delivering essential services for our children and young people, the SEND Consultant provides strategic leadership and operational management for Hillingdon's SEND and Inclusion services in collaboration with our education, health, and social care partners.
The SEND Consultant takes full responsibility for the portfolio covering:
- SEND Advisory Service, Early Support & Sensory Intervention
- Educational Psychology Services, Delivering the statutory EP Service
- SEND Team, Primary and Secondary statutory service provision
In addition to leading these areas, the short-term focus for the SEND Consultant will be to
- Prepare for the next DSG report
- Support the findings from the last DSG report
- Review outcome of the PWC report of the 'Safety Value Work', implementing required recommendations
About you
To be considered for this position, you'll be able to evidence a combination of professional experience and qualifications operating at a senior management level, with the ability to guide, motivate, and drive improvements across a SEND function.
Displaying the knowledge and understanding of local and national policies, you'll have an insight to the ongoing changes of the SEND landscape, demonstrating a full understanding of the key challenges facing education, health and social care for individuals with SEND.
Ultimately, you'll lead and manage change within the service working collaboratively with partners and providers to ensure education provision for children and young people with SEND meets the needs and demands of the borough.
