Lightroom is located in King’s Cross on Lewis Cubitt Square, adjacent to Coal Drops Yard and Central St Martin’s. The innovative showspace was designed by 59 Productions in close collaboration with Haworth Tompkins, who have designed the venue as a sister space to the award-winning Bridge Theatre. Along with a generous Foyer and gift shop, the space also contains a bar in our atmospheric foyer where you can enjoy food and drink, provided by our catering collaborators, St John. Our gift shop stocks a range of products including t-shirts, tote bags, toys, books, programmes, and other merchandise.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are looking for two retail supervisors to support the retail manager in day-to-day operations. You will be supported in this role by a team of casual retail supervisors and Lightroom hosts. You will take the lead in Lightroom’s gift shop, providing exceptional customer service to all visitors, driving sales, upholding visual merchandising standards, reporting sales and developing the wider retail team through modelling behaviours and coaching.

Lightroom is open 7 days per week. There will be a mixture of daytime and evening shifts, requiring flexibility of available hours.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General
- Provide a high level of customer service to every visitor to Lightroom.
- Assist and communicate with all other Operational teams to ensure the Front of House experience runs smoothly.
- To be knowledgeable about Lightroom as a venue, as well as current and future shows, in order to provide patrons with accurate information.
- Be aware of the relevant procedures in place for the eventuality of fire and first aid emergencies keeping up to date with fire evacuation plans and your role as part of it.
- To act as representative and advocate of Lightroom.
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by Venue Management or the Duty Manager on shift.

Retail
- Partner with the retail manager in managing day-to-day sales floor and back office operations.
- Support the development of the wider team through actively modelling desired behaviours, providing coaching and feedback and delivering training.
- Drive sales through providing exceptional customer service, identifying upsell opportunities, and motivating the sales team.
- Work with the Retail Manager to set and communicate sales goals. Reporting daily sales.

Inventory management
- Maintaining stock room.
- Completing stock takes.
- Monitoring adherence to processes and procedures to reduce stock loss.

Administration
- Liaising with the warehouse team to resolve issues with online orders.
- Analysing sales and assisting with weekly reporting.
- Collaborating with Stage Door team to send parcels, including internationally.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential
- Previous experience in retail.
- Leadership experience.
- Have a keen interest in art and culture.
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to prioritise.
- Time management and organisational skills.
- Work well as part of a team as well as motivated to work independently.
- Confident communicator both digitally and in person.
- Remain calm under pressure and resilient in potentially challenging situations.
- Professional at all times and holds self and others accountable to high standards.

Desirable
- Experience completing stocktakes.
- Basic accounting/bookkeeping skills.
- Experience sending parcels internationally via couriers such as UPS and DHL.
- Experience using Shopify dashboard.
- Experience working in a busy commercial venue.
