Recording Transactions: Bookkeepers are responsible for accurately recording all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, into the appropriate accounting software or ledger. They ensure that each transaction is properly classified and supported by relevant documentation.

Managing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable: Bookkeepers track and manage accounts receivable (money owed to the business) and accounts payable (money owed by the business). They generate invoices, process payments, and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate records of outstanding balances.

Reconciling Bank Statements: Bookkeepers compare the business's financial records with bank statements to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded and accounted for. They identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors, such as missing or duplicate entries.

Payroll Processing: Bookkeepers handle payroll-related tasks, including calculating employee wages, deducting taxes and other withholdings, and issuing paychecks. They also ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.

Financial Reporting: Bookkeepers prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, based on the recorded transactions. These reports provide an overview of the business's financial position and performance and are often used for decision-making and regulatory compliance purposes.

Monitoring and Budgeting: Bookkeepers assist in monitoring the financial health of the business by analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and preparing budgets. They may collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving financial performance and cost efficiency.
