**Personal Care Assistants Required - Bournemouth, BH7 area**

**About the Role**:This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team of Personal Care Assistants to support an individual to attend a 3 days week placement at farms (Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday) and to help assist with communication and care at other times of the week.

The individual has learning disabilities, Autism, associated sensory integration needs and displays obsessive compulsive and seasonal effective disorder. They use a combination of gestures leading adults to what they want by vocalisations and one-word requests to communicate basic needs.

**Hourly Rate - **£11.00 per hour.

**Day & Times**:Hours to be shared between a team of PAs.

The following hours are available:
AM visits, 2 hours per day, Mon to Fri, personal care 7.30am to 9.30am

PM visits, 2 hours per day, Mon to Fri, personal care, 6.30pm to 8.30pm

5 hours Saturday to attend community visits & personal care, 12pm to 5pm (Some flexibility in the times)

5 hours Sunday to attend community visits & personal care, 12pm to 5pm (some flexibility in the times)

8 hours x 3 days per week to accompany client to attend the farm 9.30pm to 5.30pm.

**Job Description & Person Specification**

**Job title**: Personal Care Assistant

**Job purpose**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team of Personal Care Assistants to support an individual to attend a 3 days week placement at farms (Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday) and to help assist with communication and care at other times of the week.

You will be supporting a young female adult who has learning disabilities, Autism, associated sensory integration needs and displays obsessive compulsive and seasonal effective disorder. They use a combination of gestures leading adults to what they want by vocalisations and one-word requests to communicate basic needs.

**About the individual**:
She is a fun and active individual who is a joy to be around. She is happy, interactive and has a wicked sense of humour. The individual enjoys visiting local areas, including the New Forest, the beach and has regular access to leisure activities including swimming, bowling & golf.

She also enjoys listening to her music, watching Disney films and thoroughly enjoys food.

**Rate of pay**:
Employed rate: £11.00 per hour.

**Hours of work**:
54hours per week to be shared between a team of PAs.

The following hours are available:

- AM visits, 2 hours per day, Mon to Fri, personal care 7.30am to 9.30am

PM visits, 2 hours per day, Mon to Fri, personal care, 6.30pm to 8.30pm

5 hours Saturday to attend community visits & personal care, 12pm to 5pm (Some flexibility with times)

5 hours Sunday to attend community visits & personal care, 12pm to 5pm (Some flexibility with times)

8 hours x 3 days per week to accompany client to attend working farms, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays 9.30am to 5.30pm.

1:1 support is required both at home and in the community to ensure the client’s safety.

Main duties
**Social duties**:

- Supporting the young female to complete her magazine round delivery.
- Making use of necessary facilities or services in the local community.
- Accessing and engaging in work, training, education, or volunteering.

**Personal Care**:

- Prompting and supporting with bathing or showering
- Help with washing hair
- Making sure individual is clean and comfortable after using the toilet
- Help the individual to dress in clean and appropriate clothes (independently).

**Domestic duties**:

- Help with basic housework
- Help in accessing nutritional meals.

These duties may vary from day-to-day
Qualities
- **Values**: honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality and diversity or has a good sense of humour.
- **Specific requirements**: Experience of autism/learning disability would be an advantage, although training will be given.
