BRC are working with a Local Authority in Devon to recruit a Planned Works & Climate Change Manager. Our client is looking for a driven professional to manage and motivate a team, providing technical advice, managing the major revenue improvement and capitalbudgets

Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the work, staff and asset management of the council's housing stock, providing technical advice, managing the major revenue improvement and capital budgets
- Oversee matters relating to legal compliance ensuring the safety of the stock and tenants at all times
- Manage and motivate 5 planned works surveyors and a technical officer
- Responsible for the budget, work, staff and the cyclical programmed and planned works to the housing stock
- Ensure all planned works and cyclical maintenance projects are delivered in line with statutory regulations and are fully compliant across the stock
- Ensure the safety of tenants and their properties at all times, monitoring the good practice of asbestos, gas safety, fire risks and all other areas of compliance and safety
- Ensure all projects are delivered in line with the aims and targets of the council's climate change agenda
- Provide site supervision and contract management, valuation of work and authorising payment of invoices
- Develop, maintain and monitor programmes for the maintenance and improvement of the properties, updating and following policies and procedures
Job Requirements
- Driver with access to own vehicle
- HNC or equivalent in building /construction
- Experience in managing/overseeing contractors and experience in specification writing
