Are you looking for a band 3 community post working for an ‘Outstanding’ rated Trust?
Are you currently working at band 3 level in healthcare and wish to pursue a change of career? Or are you looking to join the NHS as part of a community team? Or perhaps flexible working has become more of a priority
We can tick all the boxes
We are a friendly and forward-thinking team - working across Kent, with supportive leadership.
We are currently looking for a Community Dietetic Assistant to provide high quality nutrition support for patients primarily in care homes and by visiting patients in their own homes in Thanet, Dover and Deal area. You will also work virtually from home undertaking telephone clinics to support patients with malnutrition.
We are looking for a motivated, organised and caring person who enjoys contact with people. We will value your ability to use your initiative and be flexible. You will effectively manage your own day to day clinical caseload with supervision from a dietetic assistant practitioner/ dietitian.
Your duties will include supporting our Dietetic Assistant Practitioners and Dietitians by talking to patients and care staff about food and fluid intake, reviewing and adjusting dietetic care plans according to care pathways, taking measurements such as weight and MUAC (mid upper arm circumference) to help monitor our patients progress in following their dietetic care plan.
Your role will include effective and timely liaison with GP’s, prescriptions clerks and community pharmacists about oral nutrition supplement prescriptions.
Previous knowledge/experience of the impact of nutrition in healthcare is not essential as we will provide comprehensive in-house training to meet your personal development for this role. You will be fully supported by our clinicians throughout your induction and probationary period.
We will provide you with relevant equipment and a laptop to help flexibly fulfil patient care electronically and be able to work remotely in the community and work from home.
Being a car driver is essential as the ability to drive across a wide geographical area is required. You will work from home, from your base location at Cairn Ryan, Dover, or from ‘hot desk’ options and will drive to various locations across East Kent to meet clinical service needs. Talk to us about what flexible working opportunities the NHS offers to help with work/life balance.
**Additional Working Pattern**: 30 hours per week on week days
