Raw Material Technologist

Newberry International Produce is a key supplier to the Manufacturing, Retail, and Food Service sectors in many countries. We import and export products to, and from, all over the world and this is an exciting time to join the team as our customer and supplier base expands. Due to the expansion and growth of Newberry International we are currently moving into a purpose-built facility in Ledbury.
The responsibility of the **Raw Material Technologist **is to ensure the quality of the raw material supplied to our manufacturing site in the UK is adhering to the agreed technical specifications and standards agreed with the processing factory. You will work closely with the production and quality team to ensure the raw material quality is maintained to its highest standard throughout each area of the factory.
**Hours**: Mon-Fri 0900-1700
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and update raw material specifications and finished quality assessment sheets.
- Quality check every raw material, primary and secondary packaging deliveries into the factory and record the assessment
- Ensure supplier certificate of conformance / certificate of analyses are maintained for each delivery.
- Produce accurate and timely goods intake reports and communicate them to the Technical Manager.
- Prepare raw material and finished good samples for testing in a timely manner.
- Collate, trend and interpret raw material laboratory results to ensure compliance to company standards.
- Support external audits, covering traceability from supplier to end customer.
- Take responsibility and provide a proactive approach for investigating non-conforming raw materials.
- Overlook the freezer and decant process and ensure production and hygiene standards are adhered to.
- Provide quality training where necessary.
- Support the quality auditors where necessary.
- Assist the technical department with GMP, hygiene and internal audits.
- Liaise with the planning department to ensure stock rotation is achieved.
- Maintain safe working practices, in accordance with company procedures.
- Reinforce and monitor company standards in respect of food safety, hygiene and health and safety practices within the factory.
- Undertake other such duties as may be required.
**Qualifications**: Minimum Level 2 Food Safety
**Experience**: Previous experience within a food manufacturing business is advantageous.

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
