Our business works in a niche branch of Health & Safety - Radiation Protection Advice. We are based in Norfolk but with a nationwide client base. We have a team of Radiation Protection Advisers (RPA’s) providing advice for users of Ionising radiation that will ensure safe working practices and legislative / regulatory compliance and are looking to expand our team to cover non -Ionising radiation. We are now looking to add Laser Protection Advisers (LPA’s) to the Radiation Protection team.

We provide radiation protection advice to a broad range of clients including the dental and veterinary fields, and more diverse sectors including food, non-destructive testing, pharmaceutical industry, transport, and university sectors. Our clients are all over mainland UK.

SG&A has 3 main business streams:
1. We provide Radiation Protection Advice.

2. Training for people working with radiation.

3. Distributors of personal dosimetry on behalf of Mirion Technologies.

**Laser Protection Adviser (LPA)**

Whilst the regulation of Class 3B/4 lasers and IPL systems varies across the UK, in general, regulators look for evidence that users are following the guidance published by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). This guidance advises that users seek expert advice from a certificated Laser Protection Adviser (LPA). This advice includes:

- safety training requirements
- safety legislation and assessment for compliance with standards and guidance
- safety aspects of new and existing installations
- Annual audit of existing arrangements
- preparing local rules and risk assessments - as required by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
- Assistance with the requirements of the MHRA guidance for healthcare providers, and other relevant legislation.
- Compilation and maintenance of a Laser Safety Management File
- Support for the in-house Laser Protection Supervisor (LPS)

**Who are we looking for?**

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, and effective communicator with excellent time management skills.

An individual who is keen to continue their own learning and skill set and is willing to cascade their knowledge to mentor and motivate trainee staff.

An individual who wants to join a happy, friendly, conscientious team, but is also self-motivated and able to work independently.

**Essential Qualifications and Skills**:
A Certificate of Competence to be a Laser Protection Adviser from RPA 2000.

Full UK driving licence.

To be able to carry out client on site visits/audits/equipment monitoring.

To provide radiation protection advice to our clients and assist them in achieving regulatory compliance for their sector.

To be competent with all Microsoft packages to enable production of well written client reports.

An ability to teach on training courses, or a willingness to learn the skills required for this.

Although our offices are in Norfolk, there are opportunities to work remotely. Relocation is **not** a requirement, and we welcome having staff in different locations around the UK.

It would be a requirement to travel to our Norfolk offices regularly to have meetings with other members of the team and to complete some admin roles.

Salary is dependent on qualification and experience.

This position includes a car allowance, generous annual leave entitlement and company pension scheme.
