Service Transition Lead / Senior Service Practitioner

Chiswick, West London - Hybrid

About the role:
This is a new and exciting role reporting to the Global Head of Service Manager. The senior service practitioner is a key role to develop and fostering a Service Management culture within the global IT, to be the primary focal as well as owner of key ITSM processes for Service Transition & Service Design globally within BSI IT.

The role is to be integral to the successful deliver and management of core processes through compliance, influencing and guide stakeholders within IT functions, to ensure the consistent delivery of IT services to BSI colleagues globally.

You will lead and mentor a BSI IT on ITIL best practices and to develop a service culture from 1st principles. The role also requires an in-depth knowledge of current service technologies and process methodologies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Creates and maintains the availability plan, and provides advice, assistance and leadership associated with the planning and design of service and component availability.
- Works closely with system developers, suppliers and with other service-related functions, to ensure that services are designed in such a way as to optimise the cost/ performance (availability) equation, and to prioritise availability of services during major outage situations.
- Ensures that appropriate performance data is provided for analysis and recommends additional requirements where appropriate.
- Assists in planning the development and implementation of new availability techniques and methods.
- Change Management: Drive and manage change initiatives, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of process improvements.
- Metrics and Reporting: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process performance, and regularly report progress to leadership.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures and monitor adherence to standards, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality products or services.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and finance, to identify improvement opportunities and implement best practices.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

- Strong experience in IT service management design, operation, and transition is essential.
- Experience working closely with enterprise architects to deliver integrated and complementary service architectures.
- Experience of service model delivery.
- Experience of working with and driving service architecture/org design would be ideal.
- Previous experience of a ‘Business Partner’ role in relation to IT Operations.
- Experience of providing clear service management process/procedure definition in order to establish, maintain and evolve a quality Service that meets or exceeds stakeholder requirements.
- Ability to clearly define and articulate IT Service Management needs and the rational for change (tactical, operational, strategic).
