**Job Role: Lead Cable Percussion Driller**

**Area: Hamilton, Scotland**

To carry out Cable Percussion drilling for investigatory purposes.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Carry out all works in accordance with company standards, included (but not limited to), project instructions, method statements and statutory and Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
- Report to the contracts manager and/or site manager and carry out works as instructed.
- Working outdoors in all weathers.
- Working weekends and night may be required.
- Daily rig, equipment and vehicle checks.
- Collaborate with other members of the team.
- Travel throughout the UK, staying away as required.
- Transportation of drilling rig and specialist plant equipment.
- Ensure equipment intended for the works can access work areas, fulfil the project requirement etc.
- Carry out daily maintenance checks of rigs and equipment and report defects faults prior to works commencing.
- Carry out all drilling works on-site, employing necessary techniques as required.
- Ensure the upkeep, maintenance, and records of all company vehicles and equipment in your charge.
- To carry out liaison with client as and when required.
- To complete and return company paperwork to the office in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain and ensure Health and Safety, always.
- Attend internal and external training courses in order to receive training to use new equipment and update/refresh existing skills, operators are expected to pass all training courses in order to maintain their level of competence.

**Essential Criteria**:
**Knowledge**

Knowledge of current drilling systems

Knowledge of working on construction sites

General knowledge of site Health & Safety requirements

Knowledge of the company logistic supply system

**Skills**

A background in geotechnical drilling

Excellent inter personal skills and man management

MS Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) to allow the efficient production of site paperwork

**Experience**

A recordable 3-5 year history in a similar role

Working within a construction related environment.

**Qualifications**

NVQ Level 2 Land Drilling

Valid CSCS card

Full UK driving licence

Qualified to tow

Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) OR Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)

First Aid (1 day)

BDA Audit
