You will communicate effectively with clinical colleagues both internal and external to the department and Trust providing reports where appropriate, dealing with enquiries in the office by telephone or visitors to the department when required and to take part in regular team huddles and other staff meetings

It will involve you monitoring and typing the required letters within the department, and raise any issues with delays and capacity issues with your line manager, to regularly review and acknowledge any SOPs within the department, working effectively within an administrative team and support colleagues and assist the SPPC in any training for junior colleagues and to shadow colleagues within the department to develop skills working with both the clinical and non-clinical team and understand the full patient pathway.

Your role will be to provide a high-quality clinical typing and admin service to a team of consultants supporting the Senior Patient Pathway Coordinator, Operations Manager and Service Unit Manager whilst being responsible for typing clinic letters, reports and other clinical correspondence in line with the Trust’s contractual key performance indicators (KPIs).

You will provide administrative support to the three services within the division when required, following standard operating procedures for typing, which describe how the functions of the role will be carried out along with given timescales and key performance indicators that will be adhered to.

You will work as part of a team providing cover for colleagues during sickness and annual leave, where appropriate, across the division and will need audio typing skills and a sound knowledge of medical terminology as well as a background within administration.
