**About the Role**:
Our modern world presents fewer opportunities to live active healthy lives. Healthy foods are expensive; high calorie foods are cheap and readily accessible. We exercise less, and jobs increasingly require hours of sitting at screens. Despite this, a proportion of people remain slim and healthy. What is their "secret"? The Metabolic Resilience Laboratory aims to uncover the biological mechanisms underpinning maintenance of enhanced health in the face of genetic and environmental conditions that cause metabolic disease in most people (obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart and circulatory problems).

The School of Science and Technology at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is an exciting multidisciplinary environment for learning, teaching and research, with some of the best facilities in the UK.

You will work in the state-of-the-art Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Centre (ISTeC) that houses two major and evolving and complementary strategic themes, Metabolic Health, and Neurophysiology with extensive expertise in cutting edge in vivo and in vitro metabolic phenotyping, as well as cell imaging and molecular techniques available across the Centre.
