Procurement Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and supportive Procurement Team. You will initially be based at Albert Lodge at Victoria Central Health Centre in Wallasey but at some point in the next 12 months it is likely that the team will return to the Trust's HQ at St Catherine's Health Centre in Birkenhead.

**The purpose of the job is**:

- To provide an efficient and professional client focused procurement service, effectively handling all incoming enquiries and requests in a polite and timely manner, processing the information received accurately and efficiently.
- Complete quotation exercises as required using an eTendering portal. Negotiate (face to face or over the telephone) with suppliers and user departments to ensure optimum value for money.
- To act as an Ambassador for the Department with Trust colleagues, suppliers & external agencies.
- Advising stakeholders on how to select and purchase goods on the trust’s ordering systems, processing requisitions (ensuring accurate information for first time invoice matching) providing help, assistance, and training when necessary.
- To provide admin support and aid in the support and management of the trust’s catalogue and procurement data. The provision of high-quality information supports reporting and ensures communication and engagement is maintained with partner services such as Finance, Departmental budget holders and external partners.
- As and when required the role may need to provide support/cover to the Distribution Supervisor to deliver an efficient and professional client focused stock distribution service, effectively delivering, handling and managing trust stock, dealing with enquiries and requests in a polite and timely manner.
- The post covers a broad range of duties and tasks, some of which require the exercise of initiative.

Our services are local and community-based, provided from around 50 sites across Wirral, including our main clinical bases, St Catherine’s Health Centre in Birkenhead and Victoria Central Health Centre in Wallasey.

We also provide integrated 0-19 services in Cheshire East comprising health visiting, school nursing, family nurse partnership and breastfeeding support services from 13 bases and have recently taken over similar service provision in both Knowsley and St Helens.

We have also been commissioned to provide 3 in-patient wards and provide in-reach support into the local acute trust, residential and nursing homes across Wirral.
