**About the role**:
**Key areas of responsibility**:

- The registration of finds, updating and organising files and databases on a daily basis.
- Liaising with Finds Liaison Officers (FLOs) of the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS), local museum curators and archaeologists to obtain details of finds and to confirm disposition.
- Progress-chasing curatorial reports supplied by the BM and FLOs.
- Liaising with coroners to ensure that the BM properly supports and advises them in their duties under the Treasure Act and that the BM is informed of inquest verdicts.
- Carrying out formal correspondence with finders, landowners, and coroners relating to cases of potential Treasure which are disclaimed by the Crown, are determined not to meet the criteria for Treasure, or are required to be heard at inquest.

**About you**:

- Good general education to GCSE or equivalent
- General computer literacy, specifically experience of databases and Microsoft office software
- Knowledge of the types of artefacts that are Treasure; interest in British archaeology
- Administrative experience
- Accurate record-keeping, including that of finances; ability to work independently and as part of a team
