Material Handler

We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Material Handler / FLT counterbalance driver to join our team at our clients' facility in Brickhouse Lane, West Bromwich. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement and storage of materials, ensuring smooth operations within the organisation. **Location**: Brickhouse Lane, West Bromwich, B70 0DH
**Schedule**: 4 on 4 off, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
**Pay**: £11.40 - £12.00 per hour
**FLT License Required**:Counterbalance
**Responsibilities**:
- Material Handling: Safely and efficiently load, unload, and move materials throughout the facility using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials as needed. Conduct regular inventory checks to identify and report any discrepancies.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare materials for shipment according to customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Collaborate with the logistics team to meet shipping deadlines.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel. Ensure materials are properly labeled and stored in designated areas.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following proper handling and storage guidelines. Report any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor.
**Requirements**:
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy objects, often weighing up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods. A valid forklift operator certification is a plus.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Team Player: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members and other departments. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure.
- Reliability: Punctuality and a strong work ethic are essential. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work independently with mínimal supervision.
**Salary**: £11.40-£12.00 per hour
