Hours of work 1-4pm (will increase as we expand)
Session rate £35
Self-employment contract
Based at various locations across Didcot (OX11)
Reportable to Lead Sports Mentor and Oxford Creators Management Team

**We are looking for a motivated, creative, passionate and empathetic sports mentor to join a new, exciting non-profit alternative education provision based in Didcot.**

We empower 11-18 year olds through a bespoke package of wellbeing support, fitness sessions and digital skills.

Our mission is to ensure all students feel valued, included and inspired to become the best version of themselves.

Currently, we have 3 hours of mentorship available with scope for this to increase. There is an opportunity to grow and develop your role as Oxford
Creators expands over the next 12 months.

Many students at Oxford Creators are neurodiverse (ADHD / Autism), may suffer from anxiety or mental health issues. They do not attend school, are on a reduced timetable or are at risk of exclusion.

You will be working closely alongside a team of mentors to develop an inspiring, engaging and bespoke package of alternative education. Your fitness sessions will form part of a half day or full day for students which will include wellbeing, podcasting, website design and entrepreneurship.

**J O B D E S C R I P T I O N**

Designing and developing a creative fitness curriculum and PE lessons for between 1 - 6 students

Attending planning and safeguarding meetings with lead sports mentor and management team

Delivering age appropriate sport related fun activities

Follow safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure every child is kept safe and feels safe at our provision

Report any concerns regarding child protection to the Lead Sports
Mentor or Designated Safeguarding Leads

Uphold the Oxford Creators code of conduct at all times

Tailor sessions to each childs individual strengths, passions and interests whilst instilling confidence and raising their self-esteem

Writing session notes about each student

Building relationships with schools, parents and the local community

Contributing to reports and blog posts

Taking a proactive role in promoting the work of our non-profit through social media, networking events and online panel discussions

Make reasonable adjustments to accommodate and understand the requirements of children in your group who may have additional needs
(including dietary needs) or a medical condition

**R E Q U I R E M E N T S**

Undertake enhanced DBS and pass Level 2 safeguard training prior to working on-site with our students

Refresher safeguard training every 12 months

Refresher data protection training, health and safety training every 12 months

Attend relevant Continued Professional Development opportunities as and when required in order to meet the needs of the role

Complete the Oxford Creators onboarding and induction process

Be confident to put forward ideas to develop your role and the company for the best interests of the children we support

Ongoing supervision from the lead sports mentor and management team to take place on a regular basis to ensure consistent high standards in staff and student wellbeing, safeguarding and positive workplace culture

This role and job description will be adapted and developed over time.
