Role Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of environment, health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures.
- Collect samples for analysis in an accurate and representative way.
- Use a range of analytical equipment to provide fast and accurate data to a dynamic fabrication facility. Maintain equipment and analysis records in a way that complies with internationally recognized standards.
- Prepare and present complex data to a diverse audience in a way that is relevant and actionable.
- Provide advice and support to departments on environment, health and safety matters, including safe chemical handling and disposal.
- Coordinate and conduct environment, health and safety training sessions for employees, including induction training for new hires.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents.
- Liaise with department managers to address
- Assist in managing workplace safety committees and meetings.
- Support internal and external health and safety audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, Chemistry or related field.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of chromatography and mass spectrometry analysis techniques.
- Experience working in a lab environment and with hazardous materials preferred.
- Proven experience in a health and safety role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and any relevant health and safety management software.
