Survey Skipper

A Survey Skipper is required to join a well-established hydrographic surveying business located in Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland.
Their fleet of vessels are used to conduct a wide range of nearshore/offshore hydrographic, geophysical, oceanographic and ROV survey services around the UK.
The role will involve acting as Coxswain on a number of MCA Cat II & III commercially endorsed survey boats, which include 8 - 22m catamarans and 7m RIBs.
**Requirements**:
Relevant MCA/RYA/STCW Commercial Qualification.
Minimum 2-3 years of work experience on a commercial vessel.
Self-motivated, with a can-do attitude
Able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
Well presented, hardworking with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Fluent in English.
Full UK driving licence required.
Live within commuting distance of Irvine.
**Duties**
Operating the vessel in a professional, safe, efficient & cost-effective manner.
Ensuring the vessel is maintained in a seaworthy state and all seagoing requirements are complied with.
Responsible for voyage route planning & management, crew management, administration and maintenance.
Enforce safety protocols, conduct drills, and ensure compliance with maritime regulations and standards.
Maintain effective communication with the vessel's crew, port authorities and shore-based personnel.
Ensuring essential documentation e.g. logbooks, navigational & safety reports etc. are up to date.
