The appointee will be expected to develop specialist expertise to complement that of existing consultants. The pathologists share the general workload on an agreed rota basis with each consultant taking the lead in their area of interest. There is an active MDT programme, (15/ week) responsibility for which is distributed across the consultant body by mutual negotiation. MDTs are held in a combination of the Trust's Medical Academic Unit, online and hybrid, supported by modern audiovisual equipment including videoconferencing to support regional / networked MDT working.
