**Position - Sailing Secretary**

Hayling Island Sailing Club is a World Class Sailing venue and a thriving members club. Designated an RYA Centre of Excellence and an RYA Training Centre, the club has a very high international profile in dinghy sailing and water sports generally.

You will also provide administration for the Club’s Racing & Sailing Committees.

You will have a high level of IT literacy and demonstrate exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

**Reporting to**: The Office Manager, General M**Position - Sailing Secretary**

Hayling Island Sailing Club is a World Class Sailing venue and a thriving members club. Designated an RYA Centre of Excellence and an RYA Training Centre, the club has a very high international profile in dinghy sailing and water sports generally.

You will report to the Office Manager & General Manager. You will work with the Office Manager to administer the sailing calendar and facilitate and prepare for club racing, Open Meetings and Championships by preparing duty list and resources. You will produce results and entry lists for racing events. You will have a high level of IT literacy and demonstrate exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

Reporting to: The Office Manager, General Manager and in turn Club Committees

Hours:40 hours week, weekend work is required, and work hours may vary.

Skills: Excellent administrative and IT skills, detailed understanding & knowledge of sailing, dinghy racing & RYA training.

**Salary**:£22,000

**Club Racing, on a weekly basis throughout the year**
- Duty Lists - with reference to Dutyman, compile, assign, communicate and ensure all racing is correctly resourced.
- Sign on/off sheets - produce and ensure that they are on the notice board for sailors to sign on. Check that the RO has checked everyone is back ashore safely.
- Flag sequences - produce the flag sequence for the day’s racing Results - collect from the RO, sense check and input into Sail wave, print off and display on the notice board. Ensure results are published on the website.
- Race Officers’ equipment - ensure that the RO has all equipment and documents needed to run the racing.

**Open meetings / Championships - as and when events are scheduled**
- Tally Packs - allocate tally numbers; produce tally packs, issue sailing instructions, trolley tags and any relevant information for the event. Ensure that all competitors tally out and tally back in when safely ashore.
- Trolley Tags - order and issue for each event when needed.
- Duty Lists - see above.
- Entry Lists - Complete entry lists from the entry forms which are then used to reconcile money and used for tally lists.
- Results - see above.
- Protest Committees - assemble a protest committee, supply protest information and change results after the hearing if needed.
- Prize Giving - order prizes for each event, set up prize giving and provide all information to the person awarding the prizes
- create schedules & itineraries for events.

**HISC Training, on a weekly basis throughout the year**
- Ensure training events are set up on the club management system.
- Complete registration for training events.

**Other duties, and responsibilities shared with all office staff**
- Assist with reception duties.
- Open and distribute post.
- Ensure that everyday queries are resolved by the correct staff or elected member.
- Assist with all general administrative office tasks when required.
- Provide administration for the Club’s Racing & Sailing Committees.anager and in turn Club Committees
