An exciting opportunity has arisen within our service for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated Theatre Sister / Charge Nurse to lead on surgical robotics to join our friendly dynamic hard-working theatre team.

Our theatre suite at The Hillingdon has 7 theatres and 1 recovery unit. The specialities include robotics, orthopaedics/ trauma, gynaecology, urology, general / vascular and ophthalmic. This department has 24 hour theatre provision including obstetrics.

You will be fully supported in your role by the Theatre Sisters and the Operations Manager for Theatres

A commitment to participate in shift work, nights and weekends is essential.

You will be responsible for the effective and efficient operational management of the department/ward; including budget control, clinical governance, staff development.
Expected to provide professional leadership within the clinical area and provide direction and inspirational leadership to all members of the multi-disciplinary team within the area for which they are accountable for.

You will be involved in the development & guidelines.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Lead the development of Robotic Surgery and the implementation of policies, procedures and standards of care relating to the service.
- Support key working relationships with all members of the Multi-Professional Team, including Nursing and Medical staff, Allied Health Professionals and Support Workers.
- Be responsible and accountable, within the Multi-Professional Team, for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of the specialist nursing care for patients undergoing robotic surgery.
- Assess, plan and implement patient treatment to provide holistic care in coordination with lead clinician, working across specialism’s i.e. surgery and anaesthetics to deliver holistic care to individual patients
