The Aspire Training Team are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join Stickleberries Day Nursery setting as a Level 3 Childcare Apprentice.

This is an exciting opportunity to complete a Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Stickleberries Day Nursery within a friendly team in the heart of Winterbourne Stickland, Blandford Forum

Stickleberries is a bigger early years nursery setting which prides itself on creating a high quality environment, which creates a positive and welcoming for all staff, children and prospective parents. Stickleberries is a family run business and has been open since September 2015. It is a home from home environment where we hope to inspire and nourish children from 3 months to 11 years.

Stickleberries consists of three large rooms;
Strawberries
- The Strawberry room concentrates on getting children ready for school and reaching the best of their abilities.

The strawberry room focuses upon topic-based themes used to teach child about different experiences whilst accommodating child’s individual needs and interests.

Activities covered in the strawberry room include letters, sounds, numbers and shapes as well as teaching basic writing skills, independence skills such as preparing for Physical education and infant school.

Blueberries - The Blueberry room consists of a large play area, changing area, messy play area and a separate sleep room to accommodate varied routines of different children.

The Blueberry room also have access to a small courtyard that is shared with Raspberries, as well as the larger playground. The Blueberry room prides itself on providing the highest standard of baby care with a focus on individual interaction and stimulation.

The Blueberry room uses lots of holistic, sensory and messy play. such as singing, stories and sounds to encourage babbling and talking, ICT toys, soft toys and rattles.

Raspberries
- In Raspberries you will be help children aged 18 months+ with toilet training and extend the holistic play by introducing new topics, targets and media. At the ages of 2-3, developing your child’s communication is vital and we do this through introducing imaginative role play, storytelling, flash cards, singing, music time and encouraging new words and experiences.

Roles and responsibilities:
As the role of a Level 2 Childcare Apprentice, duties include but aren’t limited to.
- Working outside with the children in large outdoor space
- Playing and helping to take care of the the setting’s resident ducks and chickens.
- Supporting children with eating, and assist with meal preparation
- Supporting children with personal care
- Planning activities and participating in activities with children Arts and crafts and messy play activities
- Helping to keep the setting presentable and tidy
- Follow all settings health and safety policies to keep the children safe
- Must enjoy working outdoors alot Interacting with parents and carers

This position is 51 weeks per year working hours will be a minimum of 32 hours per week with shifts between the setting’s opening hours of 7.45am and 18.00pm.

Qualities Required: We are looking for a highly motivated flexible, reliable and punctual enthusiastic individual who is willing to learn, along with a real passion for childcare, who is willing to get fully involved with the daily running of the nursery, to join our small and friendly team, and to learn from qualified, passionate, and professional staff.

You will also need to be a great team player, confident and outgoing, and must be willing to carry out a variety of tasks. You must also you must be imaginative, creative, and be committed to a career within Childcare. Requirements: You must be able to gain a clear DBS, which will be deducted from your monthly salary for the first few months of your employment.
