Part of the wider New Bridge Multi Academy Trust (MAT), New Bridge School is a generic special needs school for pupils and students between the ages of 11 and 19 across four sites within Oldham - New Bridge Lower School, New Bridge Pathways, New Bridge Learning Centre and New Bridge College.

New Bridge school is an Outstanding rated provision which caters for pupils with a wide range of SEND, from moderate learning difficulties to profound and multiple learning difficulties, including severe and complex learning difficulties. The school also caters for pupils with physical disabilities, multisensory impairments, visual impairments, hearing impairments and specific conditions including autism spectrum condition.

Making a difference to the lives of these young people could be the most important job you will ever have. All pupils have an EHC plan. In order to cater to the needs of the range of pupils the school has developed a range of different provisions.

As a result of our growing pupil numbers we have had to expand our Mobility and Therapy Team. The Trustees are looking to appoint a resilient and enthusiastic Mobility and Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic, growing and committed staff team.

The Mobility and Therapy Team support the pupils and students across all four sites of the school with their movement, strength, control, posture, pressure management and dexterity. There are two main therapies used by the team - Hydrotherapy and Rebound Therapy. In addition to these, support is provided through other therapeutic and posture care programmes within different environments including classrooms.

**Applicants should be able to demonstrate how they meet the following essential criteria**:

- Previous experience of working with, volunteering or caring for young people of a relevant age to those within the New Bridge Multi-Academy Trust (4-19 years)
- ICT skills to operate a computer and other basic technology such as photocopiers
- Interpersonal skills to relate well to children and adults
- The communication skills to effectively exchange information with a range of audiences including students, teachers, other school colleagues and parents/carers.
- Team-work skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, and understanding your responsibilities and your own position within these
- The ability to lift manually and with any hoist equipment provided (after training)
- The ability to feed and supervise young people.
- The ability to prioritise and manage own time effectively, work consistently to deadlines, set and achieve challenging but realistic goals.
- The ability to constantly improve your own practice/knowledge through self
- evaluation and learning from others and any necessary training specific to the role.
- An understanding of equal opportunities and an awareness of potential barriers children may have about learning.
- An understand how safeguarding and confidentiality are important when working with children and young people

Although based initially at our Roman Road site, all staff are employed by the MAT and are expected to work at any site within the New Bridge Group

**Salary**:NJC scale point 3: £20,812 per annum (full time, full year salary)

**Actual Salary**: £16,508 per annum pro rata

**Allowance**: SEN allowance £1,401 per annum

**Status**: Permanent

**Contracted Hours**: 34 per week / term time only + 5 days (195 days)

**Based**: Initially at New Bridge School, Roman Road, Hollinwood, OL8 3PH
